All Information About Chandpur District

Chandpur   is a district of Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chittagong Division.  It was part of greater Comilla District until 1984.

Administration

In December 2011, the Bangladeshi government appointed Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd.) Abu Osman Chowdhury, a member of the Bangladesh Awami League, as the administrator to the Chandpur district council. Md. Ismiel Hossain, the Deputy Commissioner of the Bangladeshi government's Cabinet Division, is responsible for Chittagong division'sChandpur district.


The deputy commissioner of Chandpur district is Prantosh Roy.
The Chandpur district consists of 8 municipalities, 660 wards, 200 mahallahs (sub-divisions), 8 upazilas(administrative sub-districts), 8 thanas (administrative police districts), 88 Union Councils of Bangladesh (rural administrative districts) and 1226 villages  The district has five parliamentary seats.
